چکیده

It is well-known that the inclusion of composite geogrids (CGGs) into pavement structure assists to maximise benefits geosynthetic-reinforcement in flexible pavements. However, use CGGs practice limited Queensland, Australia regardless its potential benefits, mainly due absence rational design guidelines. Therefore, this study was conducted develop guidelines unpaved granular pavements/working platforms constructed with local materials and reinforced at base-subgrade interface. Firstly, six laboratory-scale model tests were varying base thickness as 200, 300 400 mm, without CGG reinforcement interface subgrade-base layer. In all these tests, a 500 mm thick subgrade prepared achieve CBR value 2.5%, then layer compacted on top 91% maximum dry density, steel box length, width height 1 m, m 1.2 respectively. The models subjected repeated loading (up 150, 000 cycles) centre using 200 diameter plate simulate tyre pressure 550 kPa. By following step-by-step procedure, developed based rut depths both unreinforced obtained after 5000 load cycles every 25,000 up 150,000. Both economic environmental can be by adopting proposed

Design of Particulate-Reinforced Composite Materials

A microstructure-based model is developed to study the effective anisotropic properties (magnetic, dielectric or thermal) of two-phase particle-filled composites. The Green's function technique and the effective field method are used to theoretically derive the homogenized (averaged) properties for a representative volume element containing isolated inclusion and infinite, chain-structured part...

Eccentrically loaded strip foundation on geogrid-reinforced sand

Results are presented for laboratory model tests conducted to determine the ultimate bearing capacity of an eccentrically loaded strip foundation supported by geogridreinforced sand. Only one type of sand at one relative density of compaction and one type of geogrid were used for the tests. The depth of the foundation was varied from zero to B (width of foundation). Based on the laboratory test...

Sensitivity analysis frameworks for mechanistic-empirical pavement design of continuously reinforced concrete pavements

The new AASHTO Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) performance predictions for the anticipated climatic and traffic conditions depend on the values of the numerous input parameters that characterize the pavement materials, layers, design features, and condition. This paper proposes comprehensive local sensitivity analyses (LSA) and global sensitivity analyses (GSA) methodologies...
